This corn schnapps has a long tradition and has already made a name for itself far afield, a long way from its origins.  The Herms distillery in Salzhausen registered this schnapps back in 1843 and since this date it has become very well-known as a traditional product from the region.  The unusual mild flavour of the rye corn is due to its storage in ash casks and the especially high quality of the rye from the Lüneburg Heath.
